Lament over Jerusalem
37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! 38 See, your house is left to you desolate.39 For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
Without passion and love the church planter never really succeed at fulfilling the will of God or in demonstrating the heart of God. Everything that has happened up until now, the research, the planning, the praying, the team building, the vision casting, the values statement, the mission statement, all is futile without the passion and love to express what is in the heart of God.
In the Christian calendar today we celebrate the day that Jesus made his triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Church Planting is often done in an atmosphere of celebration and joy.
Yet it will not take long before opposition and sacrifice set in. What keeps the church planter balanced is the passion and the love he has for the lost.
Let God build these in your heart. See what God sees. Feel what God feels. Don't let planning take the place of passion.
