In addition to your Biblical Values you will have things that you personally value: Authenticity transparency Integrity, balance, grace, or any of the many specific things that will define you and your community. You can not escape defining your core values and once you have defined and articulated them to people they, along with your vision statement, will tell you a lot about where your church plant is headed.
Values should be centred on what you see as people's needs and the right way to help them. Until you have a value statement you should not attempt to define your mission because it will not reflect where your heart is and you may fall into the trap of just doing church without being able to focus.
How will your values be lived out? Remember again... “Every action taken in the organization must adhere to the core values, which are prioritized. For every core value, the organization must complete the following sentence: ‘We will know that we are living under this value when…’” Here is one church's statement about their core values of loving God and loving people.
