We want to make sure that you are aware of our policies regarding Credential Renewal. This year we are having to “up our game” as our insurance is asking us to provide police reports.
We have determined that March 31 will be the last date to receive your police report and renew your credentials. Any credentials which have not been renewed at that time will be cancelled with The Marriage Bureau and you will have to reapply for credentials. We need a report even in the cases where pastors and ministers hold credentials with other credentialing agencies.
After June 30th we will no longer continue our Mother/Daughter Church Plant Agreement with leaders who have not submitted their police report. The reason for this is that we will not be able to continue to insure you.

Thank you for renewing your Credentials for 2018. All of our Pastors Must hold valid credentials to be a partner of Gilgal. (Gilgal Christian Community, Gilgal Missional Community, or Gilgal Christian Community Church.)
We are now working on our credential renewals for the coming year: 2018.
In order to make the ministry safe for all we require each pastor to provide us with a police report, and in order to make it fair, we are adopting four policies for clarification. The first policy has to do with those applying for credentials right now before the end of 2017. The second policy has to do with applications in 2018 and beyond. The third policy has to do with failure to provide a police report withing 90 days (before March 31). The fourth policy has to do with failure to provide a police report before 180 days (Before June 30).
We really need to be in line with our Child Protect Plan (which is a standard plan) and also to know that we are all really covered by our insurance. Thank you for your understanding.
Policy # 1
All of our credential holders are required to provide police reports in order to renew their credentials for 2018. Those who have already provided a police report will be receiving their new ID cards in December. If you have not obtained your police report you need to do that right now. You MAY be asked to provide a letter from our organization stating why you need this report. If you are asked please let our office know and we will provide this immediately.
If you hold credentials with another organization you still need to provide us with a police report. While we will continue to recognize your credentials you have an appointment with us and we require a police report.
Pastors Emeritus will not be required to provide a police report as they do not have any specific ministry appointment with us.
Policy # 2
Those credential applicants who are applying for the first time will be exempt from paying their application fee provided that their application is in our hands by December 31. If you already have signed a Mother/Daughter Church Planting Agreement we need to ensure that you are properly credentialed.
Those applying for credentials after January 1, 2018 will be required to pay the application fee of $25.
Policy # 3
If you have not obtained your police report and sent it to us before December 31, you will not be receiving a new ID Card. In the case where a pastor fails to provide a police report before March 31, 2018 we will be cancelling your registration with The Marriage Bureau. In that case you will have to reapply for credentials. This may have serious consequences if you need to perform a marriage as reinstatement might take several additional months.
Policy # 4
If you have not obtained your police report and sent it in to us before the six month point (June 30, 2018) we will be terminating any church planting or Gilgal Missional Community Church agreement. This would have obvious serious consequences and would involve bank accounts being frozen until the credential issue could be normalized.
Clearly there will be a lot of interaction between any pastor and our office before Policy and we do want to avoid the problem of not having a current police report.
